Vinyl

To prolong the age and beauty of your new Vinyl, follow our recommendations for its care and maintenance:

- Keep foot traffic to a minimum for the first 24 hours after the installation of your vinyl to help the adhesive dry properly.

- If your vinyl floor has been seamed, protect those areas and avoid stepping on the seam sealer for 24 hours so it may dry undisturbed.

- Do not place any appliances or heavy furniture on your new floor for 24 hours after the installation. When moving appliances or heavy furniture be sure that your floor is correctly protected and the proper equipment is used.

- Allow a minimum of two (2) days after installation before thoroughly cleaning your floor.

- Do not use rubber or foam backed plastic mats as they may discolour of the floor.

- Always use soft fabric faced furniture leg protectors under furniture legs and be sure to clean them regularly, as dirt can become embedded in them. The use of floor protectors will help to minimize indentations and scratches from heavy objects. Move heavy appliances or furniture by sliding them on a piece of carpet.

- Try to reduce your vinyl floors exposure to UV rays and excessive heat by using blinds, shades or awnings. This will help to avoid any thermal degradation of the vinyl.

- On a regular basis, sweep your floor to remove any loose dirt or dust.

- Damp mop to remove grime from your floor but be careful not to use abrasive cleaners, soaps or scouring powders; luke warm water and clear ammonia is recommend to properly clean your floor.

- Wipe up spills righth away and if needed, clean with a resilient floor cleaner. Many flooring manufacturers have a brand of cleaner they recommend for their products and your local Sears Floor Covering Centre can help you choose the appropriate cleaner for your floor.
